Good morning. You say you are anxious to drive anywhere you don't know. Do you drive around your local area and is the 60 mile distance doable on easier roads or does it involve motorways and fast roads etc? Also, is the lady/gent driving him happy to take him there and bring him back? I do appreciate your position as I was a very confident driver before Covid and then I didn't drive for a few months and lost my confidence apart from local village and country roads. I suppose it boils down to whether you are happy driving at lower speeds in a perhaps more leisurely fashion or whether you really don't feel confident at all. I have awful anxiety if I have to drive somewhere I don't know . So I do understand. I'm better if I have another pair of eyes with me . Use an updated sat nav set to the best settings . I've had this most of my life and I either avoid or feel the fear and do it anyway . Good luck

No doubt your Husband is also feeling anxious about going into hospital and would like you with him. Is there any reason why you cannot accompany him with the "Someone else" doing the driving?

I would say that your husband’s the one being unfair, unless there’s a good reason for his stance. Knowing how much this is stressing you out, but still insisting you should do it despite having an alternative. Why is this?All I can think of is that perhaps he feels he’s taking advantage of the other driver who’s offered to take him? If it’s simply that he wants you with him, that’s easily solved by you going along as a passenger.
