Atheist Beliefs

Oh, all right then! I'm not arguing, anyway, I just thought Ave Maria was a bit OTT.

No – appreciating beauty. One of my favourite choral pieces is I know that my Redeemer liveth and one of my favourite places is Durham Cathedral. That is not ironic even though I am an atheist.

The point of the video, which should be obvious and was clearly spelt out is that just because someone is an atheist, it doesn't prevent them from having beliefs. I would imagine the choice of music served the same purpose – being an atheist does not prevent anyone from appreciating beauty.

Well, I've just watched the video and it certainly didn't bring a tear to my eye - but then why should it? Most of it was just common sense. I didn't understand why they had to have Ave Maria playing in the background, though...

I must have been watching a different video - I didn't pick up one word of criticism or unkindness.

I thought it was very moving too.

I just wish he hadn't chosen that piece of Schubert which I really dislike, but then I'm not very enthusiastic about other pieces of Schubert. The words, however, were moving.

I hate that video because it's quite obviously another dig at Christianity. Why does he have to refer to his 'Atheist' beliefs. Why not just head the video 'I believe this'?

I wonder why people need to put this stuff up on the internet. Isn't it their own business, what they believe in? Why should we care?

You can find it all better expressed in a good poetry book.
