And don't bother saying "She started it" Just have self-control enough to be the one who ends it by firmly closing the mouth and the laptop lid and going and doing something useful.

Meanwhile I am changing the subject to tell you that besides being away for a week with DD1 and family I have also been for a bone scan as the consultant at the breast clinic wants to check that my backache and sciatica have no connection with the tumour that was removed from my breast seven years ago. Definitely wandering from the OP but as I am on here ranting I might as well mention something worth getting worked up over.

I always think, if you put a comma before the last item in a list, it is because that particular item is in some way different from the others. eg. "In the basket there was an apple, an orange, a pear, a plum, and a dead dog."
