Well - I started a thead some time ago about "secular churches" - good to see it is actually happening!

Only danger with such organisations is that they might go down the power trip route and be distracted from their roots, just as the churches have done.

Thye need to have a strong community service element.

I think they are a good idea and would be interesting and fun to go to. I agree with Alain de Botton that it would be a good idea to refer to their philosophy as cultural humanism.
