Not totally convinced that this is the right place...

Before I downsized after early retirement when I was diagnosed with Parkinsons. I was a member of an Ecumenical church, made up of Anglicans, Methodists, United Reform & Baptists. The Catholics pulled out before the sharing agreement had been signed by all.

THis church worked tirelessly to bridge differences & resolve conflicts as do other non mainstream churches today

Yes I remember that too Nellie . I also knew one or two people from that particular branch of the christian church who held some distinctly unchristian views.

Baubles That joke has more than a grain of truth in it. It sounds like what I have heard about the divisions in the Presbyterian church in Scotland with their free and wee and wee wee divisions. It says a lot that is not good about the attitudes of some of these groups

From what I remember the guy below, upset the applecart when in the late 1980s, as an elder of the Presbyterian Church he attended the funerals of a couple of fellow judges who were Roman Catholics. He was as it were, hauled before his other church elders and told never to do it again, which he refused to agree to. When you think about it it's dreadful.

I heard that piece in the car yesterday. I don't think there is any reason why I should have heard of her and the name didn't register anyway but I did remember the joke
