I really believe in it, I have paid over £40 for a session and the predictions came true.

The odds are that there are gransnetters who claim to be psychic. The chances of them actually being so…

btw DGD is 2and a half. She repeats lots of stuff that she sees on tv or the ipad. She makes a lots of stories up and we do laugh but I cant imagine a tv show for kids having the phrase 'Im going away for ever'. she repeats this daily. Hence my worry.

I cant help worrying it rules my life. If anything was to happen to my family I would want to die too, however I cant rule their lives and they have to do their 'own thing' as I did when I was younger so I will just try to keep myself busy this week and do things that will take my mind off it at least for a short while.

However, disasters do happen to people and tragedies strike so it is possible and that's why I worry. I just cant help it.

No ethel it is absolutely NOT possible for your DGD to have a premonition; but it IS possible for you to worry over a tiny throwaway child's remark.

Take a deep breath and try and think rationally.

Of course it is always possible for loved ones to have accidents - that is a fact of life - but the truth is that it is VERY unlikely indeed. I worry a bit when my DDs are racing up and down the motorway - we all do - but I always tell myself that the most likely outcome is that they will all be fine.

We all sometimes have a "bad feeling" about something, but most of the time it is totally unfounded and life ticks along fine.

Having surgery and the health scares that have beset you recently will make you more sensitive to worry - so remind yourself of that, and get on with your convalescence!

It's like me saying 'I could sleep forever' when I'm knackered, I know that's not likely to happen any more than being woken up by a handsome Prince!

Oh, and hilda too - my typing must be slow this evening! grin

x posts and same opinion, Loopy!

I agree with whitewave.

ethel, you have 'a bad feeling' about so many things in your life, as we know only too well...smile

It's natural to worry a bit when family members go away. I bet your DGD was just repeating something she's heard on tv or a dvd - or perhaps it's just that for a little one a week or two away from home seems like 'forever'.

Ethelbags...we are all hardwired to worry...see t'other thread!

I am sorry but I do not believe in psychic abilities....have read too many considered articles that explain just how easy it is to leap to conclusions...proof is pretty much non-existent. I fully understand that some people do believe ...but I do not.

Over worrying is such a burden, you are not alone, I have to work very hard not too over think events. I've said it on the other thread....think calmly about the facts, what do you know to be true and keep that in mind.

loopylou Sun 14-Jun-15 18:39:08

Oh heck ethel, it probably means nothing. To a small child I imagine 'for ever' just means more than one or two nights/sleeps.

It's like they're trying to imagine something that they can't express any other way.

((Hugs)) to you x

How old is DGD etheltbags1. Could it be that she is excited about going on holiday and wishes it was for ever? I don't think that any harm will come to any of them, at least I hope not.

whitewave Sun 14-Jun-15 18:34:51

No ethel It is just you worrying. Let them know that you hope they have a lovely holiday, and that you will be thinking of them and how much they will be enjoying it.

I am worried sick DD, partner and DGD are off on holiday to a holiday park this week and I worry that DGD might have an accident. The partner is a fast driver and I worry about road accidents.
The really scary thing is that the last week DGD has been saying 'I am going away for ever'.
I know I am a bit psychic and often have a bad feeling about things and knowing the sort of accidents children can have on rides and park equipment etc I am worried sick. I am imagining all sorts of things happening, I feel helpless as I am not able to drive yet or travel very far to help them in the event of a mishap. I just wish this week was over.

I it possible DGD can have a premonition that something is going to happen.
