I have learned something today about this episcopal church , so much love that a man who stabbed a 17 year old to death and sentenced to 20 years repented whilst in prison so was ordained a priest of the church, whilst still serving his sentence .

Yes, when I was little I saw photos of starving children in Ethiopia and today children still starve.

However, we now have Royalty in the form of Meghan and Harry, new world crusaders, who'll visit them often and have ensure lots of photos are taken of them with emaciated youngsters.

Sting, Bono and the usual virtue signallers - who are the most modern ones? - will no doubt be in their entourage.

Still the wealth is dragged into it. Poverty has nothing to do with a marriage service, and guests be they wealthy or poor should be treated with respect, as guests should treat the marriage service with respect.

Shall we all sell our IPads today & donate the money to charities! Every thing is realative some have money to have & to give some have no money to give, most have a little to have & a little to give & there are some who have plenty but do nothing for anyone else, most do a little of what they can.

The Harry and Meghan extravaganza was 'a message' and was swallowed hook, line and sinker by the adoring masses and the press.

TV viewers carry on living caring lives in a multicultural society as well as facing all the problems associated with living in modern day Britain, on a daily basis.

But, thank goodness we had Harry and Meghan to show us the true face of diversity, eh, as it's lived by incredibly rich people?

There was dignity in the marriage of Charles and Camilla as there was in the marriage of William and Kate, in my opinion.

For me, i respect the church I am worshiping in, I certaintly wouldn’t start clapping in a Quaker meeting house, I will join in with clapping and the joy of saying Hallelujah in the Pentecostal church. I so enjoy ‘passing the peace ‘ in the Anglican Church , one feels part of a family

Exactly. Not only that, it was pointed out frequently that Meghan wasn't at all religious. She had to convert to the CofE and be baptised and confirmed in order to marry Harry.

I think I'd have had more respect for them both if they'd had a smaller, less regal service, just as Charles and Camilla did. Meghan is also a divorced woman. A blessing in church would have been enough. Instead we were almost forced to witness and swallow the 'diversity' message (at great expense and with great ceremony) via the Royals.

Most of us live with diversity, multiculturalism and poverty in the streets and towns of the UK and most of us do our best (in far less privileged circles and circumstances) to ensure we live with compassion and love.

I agree goldengirl his address was like a breath of fresh air. He spoke of harnessing the power of love and what better occasion to do so than a wedding.

I thought it was incredibly inane. As if the majority of that over privileged over entitled self obsessed congregation would give a damn about ending poverty and preventing children going to bed hungry

Yes, the right-on-ness of it all, the whole service, made me heave, considering the audience it was addressing in St George's Chapel.

The more I thought about the service the more it seemed like a pat on the head to the ill-informed. It was as though the uber privileged Harry and Meghan were trying to teach us all about compassion, multiculturalism and loving one another. For the press to gush about the monarchy afterwards and the world changing because of Harry and Meghan was insulting. They were showing the ignorant plebs how it is done because Harry had taken a wife who is one quarter black.

Preacher Curry's message was fine, a good message about love, but it is delivered often by people with heart and any skin colour. His message was lost in delivery sadly, when he started repeating himself and going off-piste.

I loved it! I love this style of gospel church and singing etc it was so joyful and passionate and straight from the heart. I find Anglican services (often beautiful liturgically) don’t engage me or make me feel part of a Christian community.. I have a friend who is a pastor in Malawi and his surmons are just like this. The whole congregation get involved with all aspects of the service young and old and the church really support each other. Anglican churches I have tried are all very stuffy and rule based, children are not encouraged to play an active role outside of carefully scripted events, and the whole thing feels a bit out of touch. It’s no wonder church attendance is in decline it doesn’t speak to most people today

Well I stand corrected! My father was also a non conformist minister (not baptist though) and I was brought up and have remained part of that tradition. I'm sorry - I made that assumption because a lot of my CofE friends have little or no knowledge of non conformity and display staggering ignorance about it. Im always having to correct their comments yet they expect me to understand Cof E terms!

polly, I am the g g granddaughter,g daughter and daughter of Baptist ministers. I was brought up a baptist, I chose to become a member of the Anglican Church in my teens. Untill recent events I attended services in a Methodist, Baptist, Calvinist, Pentecostal,RC Churches, and a Quaker meeting house. Same God, same love.

The most inspiring preacher I have ever heard ,apart from my father?. Was Donald Soper, surely the most well known Methodist since John Wesley I use to drive from Wales to London to hear him preach in Hyde Park.

Meghan and Harry chose the preacher - they knew what they were getting. That seems fine - can't understand what all the fuss is about. He did what he says on his tin!
