There is light at the end of the tunnel-----eventually.

Without Hope there is nothing. JB ( 33 years incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit, nor could have )

For me ‘the ever lasting light’ is Christ and our hopes and fears we can place with him and we will be guided through

I am always fascinated (and moved) by the words of It Came Upon the Midnight Clear. All the other carols talk of the birth of Jesus bringing sweetness and light and all will be well from thereon in; but the words of the second verse of this carol tell it like it is:

Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long,
Beneath the angel strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not
The love song which they bring:
O hush the noise, ye men of strife,
And hear the angels sing!

We must always have hope, without it we are surely lost.

Where there is darkness in your life there is also light to guide you through to the other end. Not all is lost.

What do you think those lines mean. Is it saying that all the hopes and fears are met in the everlasting light. Is the everlasting light Jesus or the star in the sky???
