Solstice blessings to all, watched an incredible sunrise this morning from a local Hill Fort, very atmospheric.

Nice to know there are plenty of people who still have that connection with our past. It was a time for feasting and families getting together....the roots of our modern Christmas.

I'm awake and waiting for the sunrise, lit the lights last night at sunset and sent greetings to loved ones ..

rosecarmel Sun 22-Dec-19 11:18:39

And blessings to all of you as well .. smile

Solstice greetings to all from me, too. May the returning light ease your way through the winter.

Thank you, it was a slow slippery climb but worth every step, has quite set me up for the day, should do it more often.

A very merry Yule to all.
At this time of the year the sun appears to stand still, but after a few days the light begins to return.

With the end of the longest night the dark is defeated with the Return of the Sun, the return of light, hope and promise. The Goddess gives birth to the Sun/Sun God. The Sun begins to wax and the days grow longer. All that is hidden will begin to emerge. This is the Sun's birthday! And it really is time to celebrate!

Have a happy and peaceful Yule, ?

And a very merry Christmas.?

I've seen pictures on the web of the sun coming up over Glastonbury Tor and stonehenge. Stunning images - wish I'd been there.

Happy Birthday Sun. Hope to see a bit more of you soon.

Thank you Mini moon, what a lovely post, it was stunning and a surprising amount of bird song.

A cheering post, hillwalker. And mini moon. It's a turning point in the cycle of creation.
I've always thought/felt that living plants and creatures, humans included, were meant to hibernate at this time of the year. Rebuild our strength for the regrowth to come.

hillwalker70 There was a time I could claim your name - walked the Yorkshire hills for years and spent wonderful breaks camping year-round.

So I know the bliss of watching that sun "rise" (it is the earth who dips towards it in reverence) as the birds begin their morning hymns.

Until recently, when I was forced to move from a rural area to the suburbs, I slept outside from September (early Spring here) to June (the beginning of winter) and it calls to me still.

But as all life changes and I must too. I'm just one leaf on the tree and the leaves don't argue with Autumn.
All must fall eventually but we have played our happy part. grin

Winter (or in my case, Summer) blessing to everyone

I hope everyone has a joyous Spring Equinox, seems such a long time between Bridgets day of Imbolc to the physical turning of the year. Brilliant to see the budding of Spring all around and neighbours beautiful Magnolia tree coming into bloom, here’s hoping we have no air frosts.
Bright blessings to all grandparents who are without their beautiful grandchildren in their lives.

Cherrytree59 Fri 20-Mar-20 22:33:49

Nanna thank you, I wish you the same ?
It has been a beautiful spring day here.
The birds are looting the garden in search of nesting material.

Numerous species including a pair ring neck doves, robins and black bird have moved in to their multi storey apartment in our front garden (large fir tree).

Our back garden has also sprung into life, with a colourful array of spring flowers, cherry tree blossom and pink camellia.

I wish bright blessing to everyone on the front line, here and abroad, who are putting themselves at risk in the fight to keep so many unfortunate people alive.

Bless you one and all.
