Relevant since time began but particularly now. Thanks for sharing that,Whitewavemark. Another one I like is T.S.Eliot’s Journey of the Magi, bits of it stick in the old brain. Birth and death.
I can see where you are coming from but you couldn't have to this story until 2000 years ago.
The King chose well and thank you Whitewave for showing this deeply profound poem, it has touched my heart and spirit and serves as a reminder, there’s “nothing new under the sun” concerning our human fragility and courage.
Thank you Whitewave. This fits contemporary times so well. Could transpose His family is up and on that road , for His family are out in a flimsy dinghy on that cold rough sea I am glad the King chose it.
Epiphany, 6 January is the day the three magi came to visit Jesus and to warn his parents that they must move on fast as Herod was out to kill the child
We had a lovely children's bible when my three children were little. My daughter was listening intently one year. We got to this part, where all the boys under two years would be killed. I looked at my 3 month and 21 month old sons... and quickly made up another ending 😕
It is now in my anthology of my favourite poems. Its full name is *Refugee: A Sonnet for Epiphany.
