Church communities in the North East

Just joined GN, first post.
I moved to the North East from a very rural, friendly area with a strong sense of community where I had lived all of my life and I’m struggling at the moment with loneliness.
Can anyone recommend a church in the. North Shields/ Tynemouth/ Cullercoats/Whitley Bay Area that has a sense of community and would welcome newcomers?
Thanks in anticipation.

Welcome to GN and good for you for being proactive. I live in the South so don't think i can help except recommend you Google search churches in that area. I hope you find a lovely community there and make some good friends. Take care xx

Welcome to Gransnet.
I hope you find friends and a sense of community soon.
I belong to National Women's Register. In a few months I too am moving to a new area. I've already contacted the local organiser of NWR in the town I'm moving to. She's made me feel very welcome already. Perhaps you could Google your town and see if there's a group there. You would quickly make new acquaintances, and eventually a friend or two. Good luck 🍀

Do you have any particular denominational loyalty? If so check out their Circuit/ Diocese etc online.
For C of E look at A Church Near You.
Just try them out. I’m sure you will be welcomed.

Oh welcome to you and I hope you find a good church home. I am a Presbyterian and have found the congregation I belong to very friendly. I joined this church just before the Covid outbreak. Attend a few services of churches you might feel at home in and see what fits.

Apart from the new church, I suggest that you look at things and groups you belong to now, so it might be the gardening club, or WI, or rotary club or whatever. Whilst you are still with your present group find out if they have a group in your new area and I think this will help you to transfer rather than feeling you are a total newbie. Good LUCK
