Our local hair salon started an online booking system last year. The first time I tried to use it to book a haircut I scrolled down the list of options and beauty treatments available. I was surprised to see cannabis oil listed.

I mentioned to my daughter and said to her CBD oil must be really gaining popularity as it’s now available in the hair salon for £20. I showed her on the website.

She said Mum CBD is a cut and blow dry! ?

Oh what a laugh that gave me but, in all seriousness, I'd have thought the same as you!

All so called remedies will work with the percentage of people who respond to placebos.

My middle daughter is in to alternative medicine in such a way that traditional medicine is ‘bad’. I’ve given up buying any herbal remedies unless prescribed by the doctor.

There is so much hype and advertising persuading people to spend their money on pills they don’t need.

Herbal medicines are not regulated in the same way as prescribed drugs and there have been incidents in the USA where a man’s liver was severely damaged. I’m sorry but I can’t give you a link.

I've got a pot of cannabis ointment for my back. It's soothing for a while and I don't seem to get high on it

The cheaper versions that contain little or no active ingredient are the same as the same as the Bach flower remedies, no scientific evidence that it works bt has a placebo effect.

States the FCA are looking to improve regulation and products that have not been approved will be withdrawn. Many other stories from people who have found CBD oil helpful. But some products are a scam as they containt little or no active ingredient ... hence the clampdown.

I tried it for Fibromyalgia. It did nothing. Just after that I read an article (sorry I don't have a link, too long ago) about a doctor doing research into it and the conclusion was that it contained no properties that would have any effect, unless it was the sort that contained THC, the active drug in cannabis. That's not available in the UK or where I live in Belgium.

There are cases where it has made a huge difference to some people though. I don't think it's fair to dismiss it completely. Some people have obviously jumped on the bandwagon and are selling stuff which is next to useless, but if you've seen the results the proper stuff can have, it's hard to just dismiss it.

Trying it once, at the prices charged, allows the shysters to make a killing. Some people are highly suggestible.

I do have some hair taming cream which has cannabis oil in it, but it wasn't expensive. It's not that good either.

I try to keep an open mind about alternative medicine but despise snake oil merchants making big bucks off vulnerable people’s pain. I read a lot of the studies and decided not to bother.

I foolishly spent nearly £80 on some of this oil, did absolutely nothing for me

I felt it was just a fad to be ‘in’ I always realised there was so little in the products that it would do diddly squit for anyone so I never got sucked in My friend brought some for pain relief and reported zero help

Esspee it did absolutely nothing for me.
And the two types that I have bought we’re definitely at the top end of the price range.
I have tried it for pain relief; for anxiety; and also for exam stress.
