WhatsApp Scam warning changing mobile numbers.

I had a scam via WhatsApp yesterday. It said to the effect, “hello mum I have broken my mobile so I have a new one with this number, please ring it”. My phone said it was a suspect text. I rang both dds and they confirmed it wasn’t true. Presumably if you ring the number it’s a premium one or they try to get money out of you some other way. I blocked it. So please do the same.

i think there is a new one for those that use Facebook Marketplace to advertise goods for sale. Twice now I have had enquiries stating "is this the same as ...... " and a link. both times my computer has said that the link is dangerous. No doubt a link to corrupt your computer

Someone at DHs work lost 5,000 euro in that scam. I posted on here warning about it.

I had a WhatsApp message from someone I didn’t know - deleted it without opening.
