Just had a message supposedly from one of my AC telling me their phone is broken! and they were phoning from a friend's phone and would I message them urgently.
I know most people on GN are wise to this scam but just in case ....... Delete immediately.

Yes, a friend unfortunately fell for that one, sent money, then was asked for more before she cottoned on. Luckily she did get her money back.

So easy to fall into the trap.
The grammer was very poor on this morning 's message! Glad your friend got her money back Juliet.

A very common scam, and surprising how many people fall for it. Bottom line... NEVER trust any communication which either asks for money , for bank details, or for any personal or identity information of any kind. There are loads of scammers out there who will try to reel you in by purporting to be your family/bank/H.M.Gov/Lottery/Paypal/Amazon/NHS/Internet provider etc., and then there are all those prizes or free offers you have won. Fail safe, and don't believe ANY of them.
