Yes, GrannyGravy13 There are posts on their own reviews page from people who are pleased with the service they get from UW, these are counted and quoted on comparison sites. The problems seem to happen when people want to leave. Nearly all the bad reviews on an independent website were from people still being charged after they had closed their account, or people trying to negotiate the system for leaving.
Shell have confirmed to me today in a simple and friendly message that the transfer is complete, and that my relative officially left UW four days ago, and were now on Shell's books. They had already sent her an email, but she has to type with difficulty with her left hand.
In contrast, UW sent her a letter postmarked four days ago which also arrived today (not by first-class post then, in spite of being made aware of the anxiety caused to an older lady by three weeks of uncertainty and worry) In it they confirmed the date the service started, and the amount owed (which was more than she had expected) but not a single word with the date of the end of this billing. or confirmation that the account was now closed and she would receive no more bills. And no "We are sorry to see you go".
So you are fine with UW until you decide to leave.
