Phone call scam

I had read somewhere, possibly on GNet, that during a scam call 'victims' were coerced into saying the word 'yes'. My mobile rang last evening displaying a number I didn't recognise. Being curious, I 'answered' the call but said nothing.

The voice on the other end said "can you hear me?"..........clearly trying to get me to say the word 'yes'. Again, remaining silent I said nothing and after a few seconds they said 'sorry I bothered you' and ended the call.

I have since blocked that number but wanted to alert people.

It is a false rumour, you can't get into any form of trouble by saying 'yes' when answering a call.
