Thank you, welbeck, that was very interesting. I am familiar with the example which was given about a ‘family business sadly closing down after many years’. There were a few on FB recently, worded very much the same, and the clothes being sold appeared to be of high quality. I’ve fallen for it once, but never again. I’ll be listening regularly to that programme now.

Have to keep reminding hubby NOT to buy from facebook. If you really like what you see, then Google the supplier and nearly always find it is not on their website.

I watch scam interceptors on BBC 1 too and am signed up to the Which scam emails (you do not have to be a Which member for this.

FranP - I've been getting the very helpful Which 'scam warning' emails for a while now and I'm Not a Which member.

They are obviously doing it as a public service - very kind of them.

I’ve seen a lot of those recently. It hadn’t occurred to me until just a few days ago that they are probably scams.
TBH I rarely order online except from a very few trusted companies.
