Just cleared my emails and warning people of scam email supposedly from B & Q. Apparently I have won a competition even though I have not been in their store for years.

It looks genuine and lists two winners who have “collected their prize” and then my name with “prize not collected”. The email address is clearly dodgy. If you get this email do not click on the link.

For a couple of days I have had emails "from" Boots about a survey, and although the email address seems to be something like [email protected], Yahoo has put them in my spam folder. As they seem to come 2 or 3 at a time, and as I don't normally get emails from Boots, I assume that they are a scam and haven't opened them.

I’ve had this scam. The first time I did open the link, but went no further when I saw the ‘gifts’ for completing the survey were ridiculous.

Thanks J52, that's good to know. It's a bit alarming that in this case there isn't the usual reassurance of an unlikely email address though. I hope that doesn't mean that another way of identifying a scam is being overcome by the scammers!

I get lots of this purporting to come from different well known companies - Tesco is a popular one. If it’s too good to be true it is, but the emails do look as if they are from who they say.
