I have just been along to a local fundraising event in the village with the intention of buying some raffle tickets. I asked how much they were and was told £1 for 5 tickets. For that I expect 5 chances as I am buying 5 tickets. Oh no. They don't put in each ticket individually; it goes in as a strip. If your strip is pulled out they don't put it back in for your next 4 chances. So, I am buying one chance, not 5. Why not sell one ticket for one chance for £1, rather than telling you that you're buying 5 tickets? I didn't buy any as the woman doing the raffle kept telling me that I have 5 chances but wouldn't put the strip back in should it be drawn. Is this another sign of today's lazy and can't be bothered society? Is it too difficult to write your name/ phone number on the back of each ticket?
I have sold raffle tickets at many an event and always sold 5 tickets for 5 chances. I get so frustrated with the lack of clarity. Sadly, so many people seem to be so complacent nowadays. Both sellers and buyers.

I bought quite an expensive raffle ticket once. I only had one.
The organisers decided to award the prizes in reverse order.
The first ticket out did not get the first prize! It wasn’t my ticket, I won nothing but if mine had come out first I would have had no chance of winning the top prize.
It really is odd how some people interpret the rules.

Satahr our pub does this for meat draw.
Most times the person selling tickets writes details on each one, it takes time when others are clamouring for tickets, then tearing each ticket along the perforations, carefully, takes ages later. A strip makes more sense to me.
£1 a go these days is pretty good I think.

When I do the raffle with my DH, we write the purchasers name on every ticket, so a strip of 5 tickets has their name on 5 tickets.

They then get folded individually to go in the tub. Time consuming, yes, but if you are selling a strip with 5 tickets on, then 5 individual tickets should go in the tub, not the whole strip.

If people are too impatient to wait, then the problem is with them.
