Reports on the TV again today that the Aurora Borealis could come as far south as London tonight. I'm getting quite excited but every time I go out in the dark, I see nothing!! Is anyone else having any luck?

Just seen pictures of Aurora Borealis over Swaledale in the Pennines, and apparently the lights will be visible tonight and tomorrow. Has anyone seen anything south of the Scottish border?

Baggy No wonder a G&T lifts the spirits! The colourful pattern would translate well in most forms of textiles.

My camera is a Nikon D50 Digital SLR. I sometimes do a little adjusting, especially of light and shade, but not much as I haven't found it necessary. Also can't be bothered. It seems very time consuming when DH does it! So long as I can hold the camera steady enough, my macro lens focuses well both automatically and manually so there's no need to 'sharpen'. The only complaint I have with the camera is that it's fairly heavy to carry around, but most of my photographs are taken close to home, so that's not a huge issue.

I'll look forward to them.

By the way, is your macro lens attached to a digital, or 'the old fashioned' type of camera?..... and do you digitally enhance any of them.......not that I have an issue with that at all.....just curious.

They are inspirational, aren't they, butty? When it's less windy, rainy, haily here I'm going out with my macro lens and taking some more shots of lichens and the undersides of ferns. We have both those ferns and probably all those lichens in our garden or very nearby.

I hope you post a picture of the finished temari, bagitha. That's a great view of the moon. Anyone see the meteor shower last night?

A colour image showing different 'land' heights on the moon. I want to use it as inspiration for a temari but it will take me a while to work out how!
