Article by Fred Pearce with the same title as above. Plenty of discussion follows in the comments too.

As usual, I'm confused...there I was, minding my own business and missing the action. Too late to catch up.

I can't remember what this was about but I congratulate you on your excellent memories.

hmm

Ana Sat 24-Aug-13 18:03:16

I don't think so. It could put that person in a very awkward position, couldn't it? Whether to say 'heck, no - let people say what they want about me', or 'yes, actually I found that post very hurtful and want it deleted...'.

carboncareful Sat 24-Aug-13 17:57:10

People are always saying things about me. I do hope nobody sees fit to report them. I think it would be up to me to decide - unless they were really abusive and I had complained about them previously.

Way back, things did get rather nasty and I did feel things said about me were very nearly verging on bullying. But I pre-empted any action and told Geraldine I was Ok and didn't want anything done about it. I think this probably needs discussion. I mean shouldn't they ask the person concerned if they want something removed or not?

I reported it. I can assure you that carboncareful's remark added nothing to a discussion of any kind.

Thank you, galen. It is appreciated, and so is support from others. People are wrong to assume I am never fazed. I try not to publicise what fazes me is all. And I try, with rational thinking, to overcome fazedness. I didn't see what was deleted. Perhaps that's just as well.

Ariadne Fri 09-Aug-13 20:20:35

How has this suddenly resurfaced? And with such vituperation? Odd.

Galen Fri 09-Aug-13 20:12:59

Why can't I defend people I like? If I felt you were being wrongly targeted, I would leap to your defence Rose

petallus Fri 09-Aug-13 20:02:03

I thought you said nakedness for a second or two.

j08 Fri 09-Aug-13 19:47:56

I wasn't. Anyway, you shouldn't let narkedness take over.

Butty Fri 09-Aug-13 19:46:37

I was narked.

Galen Fri 09-Aug-13 19:45:15

Probably not, but I was narked by the other poster! So obviously were other people . I did not report that one!

j08 Fri 09-Aug-13 19:29:41

It does read just like a job reference! grin

j08 Fri 09-Aug-13 19:29:02

petallus grin

petallus Fri 09-Aug-13 19:04:39

Wow, nice reference Galen. Did Bags need one?

j08 Fri 09-Aug-13 18:25:50

Whoever reported it probably knocked a really good discussion on the head.

Back to knitting and the grandkids. hmm

Nonu Fri 09-Aug-13 18:21:18

I read it & it did not seem so horrible to me , Bags gives it out and I quite sure expects to get it back . Doesn"t seem to phase her !!

But then what do I know .?

j08 Fri 09-Aug-13 18:19:58

Oh?

Galen Fri 09-Aug-13 18:17:26

Yes. It broke forum guidelines.

j08 Fri 09-Aug-13 18:15:58

But was it really worth deleting?

Ana Fri 09-Aug-13 18:14:21

Just his/her usual Bags-slating...hmm

j08 Fri 09-Aug-13 17:57:57

confused I can't remember what carbon' s post said now, but it did n' t seem to be anything worth deleting!

Butty Fri 09-Aug-13 17:56:51

Elegran Quite agree.

FlicketyB Fri 09-Aug-13 17:47:36

Ah, her post was deleted so I had not seen it, but I can now guess at its content!

Galen Fri 09-Aug-13 16:37:28

My remarks were aimed at Carbon not you flick
