I saw him at a Club in Manchester in the late 60s. His fiery headpiece almost set the place alight!

Ana Gosh, I remember Arthur Brown being lowered to the stage by crane before launching into "Fire, I'll teach you to burn…" That was along time ago. I think he eventually became a physics taecher.

Maybe the music should have been something by Earth, Wind and Fire – except I can't remember any and it was probably all rotten anyway. Wasn't there also a group called the Tornadoes in the 1960s? I think they were rotten too.

Made me think about that biblical 'pillar of fire'. Wasn't that Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata? I wonder what music would have been more appropriate?

Yes, the surrounding objects are fans, and they were placed so as to cause a 'whirlwind' draught. Clever.

How exactly did that spiralling happen? Natural convection currents? Reflections from the surrounding "things"? What were they anyway? If fans, I didn't see any flex. Reflectors? Barriers to keep out the public?

Quite mesmeric to watch, and I thought the music was strangely right for the rhythm of the flames. Fascinating.

Strange choice of music. Definitely not to be tried at home.
