Why was she using Roman numerals in ad Greek theorem?

My bottom-stream classes used to love curve stitching on card with bright embroidery threads. I started out with the simplest - 1 to 10 on the x-axis and 10 to 1 on the y-axis and joing like numbers. They began to develop their own more intricate webs and it really helped them to undestand the mathematical concepts involved.
My own girls enjoyed Spirograph for a time - I don't know whether it is still popular with children.

Brilliant Bags although my DGD is a little too young at the moment.

Greatnan I remember making a kaleidoscope in junior school and will confess to buying one not so long ago for my own amusement,

What a great way to keep the grandchildren amused. Unfortunately, mine are all too old and my 'greats' are too young! I love symmetry - I would like a kaleidoscope again! I don't understand how it can be said with certainty that no two snowflakes are identical. I would have thought that the only statement that makes sense scientifically is 'So far, nobody appears to have found two snowflakes that were identical! grin

I love mathematical problems and the beauty of numbers, especially those found in nature.
