Another of your brilliant TED posts. Thanks Bags

Gyre is as in gyroscope something about a circulatory motion. I would imagine its long before Edward Lear.

Great to get some good news for a change.

Hope he finds a sponsor. Someone would have to pay.
I think designed to work on "gyres" grannyknot - swirling vortexes in the middle of oceans where floating debris tends to accumulate. Not the Scottish coastal shelf sad
I wonder if the word gyre was nicked, by oceanographers, from Edward Lear (it was him?) Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the waves.
Given all the other words made up, suspect this was. Oh no, its from the Latin as in gyrate. Damn.

Hope it works

Just needs one human with a thought outside the box....fingers crossed. What an intelligent, thoughtful inventive young man.

I think/hope that the younger generation will devise ways to repair or minimise the damage that big business has been allowed to inflict on the planet. This is certainly a wonderful idea.

What a cutie - I could wrap him up and take him home! I so admire his enterprise and indeed hope that it works. What nationality is he I wonder? Polish name? German/American accent?

Very good, perhaps they could incorporate the idea into the designs for wave power devices off the Scottish coast.

Ella46 Fri 29-Mar-13 13:30:42

Oh yes, what a great plan. Let's hope it does work, sooner rather than later.

If this works, it will be brilliant! Hope emoticon!
