I know, we are never satisfied, but a Nature topic without photographs is NBG.

Tiny crested newt (I think)?

I love the toad.
We have a lilypad pool in the garden for birds. Passing dogs drink from it, birds bath in it, and today I saw a long tailed lizard draped over about to have a drink. As I went for the camera DH shouted "it's fallen in" and we both rushed to rescue it. They can obviously swim as she/he had disappeared quickly.
For the first time ever I have seen a lot of baby lizards around, only about two inches long including the tail.

Before I close down and do something awfully tiresome, like housework, here is last night's Kintyre sunset.

It is a lovely forum, very uplifting, both this one and the poems. Thank you finocchio for asking for it.

shysal Thu 29-Aug-13 13:22:16

Where did it go?

shysal Thu 29-Aug-13 13:20:49

Red kite watching me eat lunch outside today. Sorry, I will stop now, getting too enthusiastic, but it is a great idea for a picture thread!

whenim64 Thu 29-Aug-13 12:03:22

I can see this thread being really popular. Why haven't we done it before? smile

finocchio Thu 29-Aug-13 11:40:53

Those poppies are so Monet, fin. Lovely sight. And that's a terrific picture of the heron, Poppi.

whenim64 Thu 29-Aug-13 10:45:41

Love the poppies, finocchio. Has anyone seen a field of cornflowers lately?
