Culling deer

Someone is recommending a cull of more than half the deer population of the UK.

Some people argue in favour of re-introducing top predators such as wolves and bears to do the culling in a 'natural way' and thereafter, should the top predators not be hunted themselves by predators with guns, keep the population under control.

Others, including one of the people recommending a severe deer cull, do not think re-introducing wolves and brown bears into rural England would be a good idea.

They cull the deer in Richmond part every year.

Do a sensible sized cull, make the meat available at a reasonable price and educate some people who might be a bit unsure about how to cook it.
(And what a low cholesterol meat it is)

It's true that deer have no natural predators, and because they are thriving it's having an adverse affect on the forests and woodlands.

Culling for meat makes sense to me.
