eggs on the badminton net

Ana I have no idea what they would eat. This is the first year that this has happened. Most odd. We have a lot of trees in our garden so I am hoping that the birds will eat the eggs!! I can only think that this glorious sunshine we are having in our neck of the woods, Scotland, is the reason for this unusual occurrence.
The 8 and 10 year old Australian Gc are fascinated.

But what woulds the grubs eat?
