I love being up early, opening the back door and listening to the birdsong before the traffic gets too loud. So relaxing and a joy to hear. I just sometimes wish I lived in the country as I did as a child, so there would be less noise interference.
I love hearing bird song, and mourn the loss of higher level hearing that means I miss a number of bird songs. We had a Nightingale here last year and I've never heard anything sing so beautifully.
What is the matter with some people. Hearing from the dawn chorus lifts my spirits no end. It makes me think that spring is just around the corner. I love to hear birdsong. Perhaps it is because I was raised in the country, my Dad taught us all about birds, and how to identify them from their song. It's love!y.
The complaints about dawn bird song have started (on Twitter, often by people from whom I would not have expected it). We moan about winter darkness and then, when the light begins to return, we moan about the birds getting on with their lives, calling for mates, using the dawn air to carry their song far afield.
That "hating" of nature makes me sad. I wish people wouldn't do it out loud, so to speak.
