This is close to my heart. Several of my DH's family are farmers and I know that some of them have decided not to use these pesticides. I haven't seen as many bees this year as in the past.The sooner the better IMO.

Found a bumblebee on the tarmac where I park my car yesterday. Encouraged it onto a leaf, put it on a nearby hydrangea flower and went indoors to get some honey and water. Couldn't see bee and was about to give up when I saw it on the ground. Offered the honey and water and was delighted when it drank (ate?) for ages. I could see its proboscis moving and the honey and water certainly lessened. I left it outside and just hope it's ok. It's raining today, but don't know what else I could have done.

This is a written response in parliament two days ago. Nowhere does it say they are going to go against the EU.

Farmers will regret it when there are no bees in a couple of years time.

Why all the fuss about whether we should be in the EU or not when they just ignore the EU ban anyway?

There was a meeting and discussion this week in parliament about the NFU wanting to use neonicotinoids again.

Signed - Monsanto really are persistent, aren't they?

Monsanto have upped the ante and are now trying to take over Syngenta. This means that they are going to be able to wield massive power in farming and agriculture and will be able to exert huge pressure to use their pesticides.

This is seriously scary stuff, as they would also have control of 35% of the world's seed supply.

Yes, I have already signed both of these petitions. Bayer, BASF and Syngenta, the multinationals suing the European Commission to overturn a ban on the pesticides that are killing millions of bees, have virtually unlimited funds to pursue lawsuits - I fear it's a sign of things to come if TTIP isn't thwarted.
Watch how a bee develops.
