Just sitting in the kitchen with a cuppa and looked up and there’s a party going on. After they finished bathing they started settling down on the grass for a chat. Don’t think I’ve ever seen pigeons sitting down on the ground before ?

Sun bathing?

I see that they are completely ignoring the social distancing.

That’s what I thought Auntiflo ? so my birdbath is the local dating place, who knew!

Tanith, that's a decent sized birdbath.
Ours is quite tiny and the birds would be lucky to get their toes wet.

Do you have ants there? Birds will 'antbathe' to remove mites!

Hetty58 you’ve taught me something today. You are probably right as yesterday cutting the lawn I noticed lots of ants done there ???

We've had fisticuffs in our garden today.
A couple came into the garden and started beating hell out of each other. In the end I had to very bravely intervene.

Such a kerfuffle, hitting each other with their wings! Yes, the fighting pigeons are back.

Rivalry, as with humans, Callistemon.

Has it got water in it? tanith. Our pigeons do that when it's empty and they need a drink/bath. They even fly right up to the windows as if to remind us.

tanith Sat 11-Apr-20 20:07:47

Yes merlotgran I refill/clean it most days.

Unlike my lot, yours look like they're used to a bit of luxury. grin

I think the pair of them are in love with the same bird.

It happened last year, three of them sitting on a fence and ended in a fight!
