Thought you might like to see this dragonfly, which flew on to my granddaughter's hands while she was on the beach. Isn't it a beauty?

The little one was in heaven - she adores insects... It took off shortly after and flew back to its pond (my son followed it smile).

Very beautiful. It's big, isn't it? I saw quite a few recently, at a country park.

I've never seen one this big, nor on a beach! They eat bees and wasps and other dragonflies, which does spoil the image a bit! grin

It's beautiful.

A very large iridescent blue one flew into our conservatory the other day and DH managed to catch it with a glass and a piece of card and release it outside. I wish I'd taken a photo.
