Fill every gap outside. It's almost certainly just walking in.

Prowl around about 11pm. Keep finding one in cat's milk - gross! Put salt down, fill gaps but they can slither in tiny spaces. Put pet food away or cover as they seem to be attracted to it.

Good tips on this site. Good luck.

Hate them but the birds like to eat them. I have never had one in the house but there seems to be a family of them living under the rim of our pool. Yucky things.

I had one in our lounge, but despite a thorough search couldn't find it. So I got up in the middle of the night and there it was crawling across the fireplace. I scooped it up and transferred it to the garden. However it just reappeared a few days later! So when I repeated the exercise, I took the blummin' thing halfway down the street ? never had a problem since. (I know I should have just killed it, but couldn't bring myself to!).

I recently saw the biggest slug ever! (not in my own garden, thank goodness.) It must have been at least 6 inches long.
I have had them occasionally in the house but never been able to find them. They are pesky devils.

I get them in the house and my daughter does too old houses have cracks and crevices they can squeeze anywhere
I ve occasssionally caught one but usually they disappear outside again when I m not looking

With so many of them around, I dont understand why frog toad and hedgehog populations let alone the birds arnt thriving?!

I recently found a largish, flat, circular, orange, slug like creature in the garden. Does anyone have any idea what it could be please? I wish I had photographed it.

I think the ? slug population is thriving because ? toad ? and ? bird population (discounting pigeons, magpies, land gulls, grey squirrels) aren’t doing so good due to loss of habitat …?

I have a lot of big orange slugs in my garden (plus brown ones and horrrible snotty-looking green ones), but not round ones -except when one has curled itself into a circle.

When we first moved here, all our slugs where the traditional large, black ones, but they have all gone!

Luckily, none of the slugs have ever found their way into our house, but DS1's first house seemed full of them - the day after they moved in, they went downstairs to see slimy silver trails all over the living room floor. DS eventually traced these back to one corner of the room, where some wires came through the wall (near floor level).

I think he filled any visible gaps but also boxed the area in, then put slug pellets in the box.
It solved his problem, but if you don't have a clear enough trail to follow back to the entry point, I'm not sure what to suggest ?

I always thought that slugs were pesky until I discovered they will clean up fox and cat poo in the garden. I now welcome the "clean up gang" in the garden but not in the house!

Namsnanny Wed 06-Oct-21 15:18:14

I havent noticed that before Gajahgran.
We have quite a few cats that 'favour' our garden!

Namsnanny Wed 06-Oct-21 15:19:00

Maybe I should have written 'flavour'?

Aldom Wed 06-Oct-21 18:07:18

This friendly frog lives in my garden. I don't use chemicals in the garden. I'm relying on him and the thrush to keep down the slug/snail population.

The clean up gang tidying up the fallen hibiscus flowers.
