It’s never really occurred to me to envy a polar bear, but relative to the size of the mum, giving birth to a Guinea pig sized “baby” must be little more than a f*rt ?

It isn't surprising that the cub isn't seen venturing out of the den for months. In the wild, of course, they'd be in a cosy hole in the snow.
