www.sciencealert.com/scientists-have-measured-a-perceptual-ability-called-o-how-good-is-yours?

Well I tried again and have improved from 0% to 1%. I still don't understand the questions. It says "study these 3 objects" then asks you which object you studied. So this time I just concentrated on one but nothing matched in the following pictures.

I don't remember anything about snowflakes.
My inner computer must be malfunctioning.

JackyB Sun 03-Jul-22 11:29:52

Better than 0%! (Seriously!) Quite honestly I didn't understand what they wanted - the food one was weird - they were all different.

I couldn't take the article seriously anyway. The first two words "like snowflakes" we are all different. Snowflakes are not all different. That would be impossible, as has long been scientifically proven.

Also better than 66% of the first hundred.

Since I’ve no idea what they scored, I’ve no idea whether I have high ‘o’ or not.

Too quick, had to guess!

annodomini Sat 02-Jul-22 19:40:37

Fancy that, Elegran! Perhaps I have an 'inner computer' that's been eluding me for 80 years!

Elegran Sat 02-Jul-22 19:36:08

Probably the best way, Anno. Inspired guesswork is really just listening to your inner computer, which has assessed automaticallywhat it sees. How often you know intuitively that something is out of place, or just wrong, and learn later that you were right. I suppose this "o" is the inner computer. Some people have a super-charged one, others have one that needs wound up by clockwork and runs out of oomph easily.

You're just trying to talk your way into our elite little club, aren't you? grin

annodomini Sat 02-Jul-22 19:13:40

I don't really understand what was being measured. I did the whole thing quickly and using inspired (!) guess-work. Not really worth a 'wow'!

MissAdventure Sat 02-Jul-22 18:56:03

smile
Brainboxes, we are.

Doodledog Sat 02-Jul-22 18:50:19

I was better than 9% too grin.

MissAdventure Sat 02-Jul-22 17:50:49

Oh good.
At least I have someone to feel superior to. grin

Nandalot Sat 02-Jul-22 17:29:27

Well I was only better than 7%. I thought I had it cracked apart from the robot one. Obviously not.

MissAdventure Sat 02-Jul-22 17:05:47

I scored better than 9 percent of people.
Obviously wasn't doing as well as I thought.

NotSpaghetti Sat 02-Jul-22 16:55:18

annodomini ?

MissAdventure Sat 02-Jul-22 11:50:33

Well, I think I was doing marvelously, but my old phone decided to keep rebooting the same pics, and hiding the continue button.

MissAdventure Sat 02-Jul-22 11:34:17

I don't even understand the explanation. blush
Off to give it a whirl, though.

FannyCornforth Sat 02-Jul-22 11:31:33

annodomini wow! ?

annodomini Sat 02-Jul-22 11:30:03

"your score on this DEMO was better than 81% of the first 100 people who tried it."

NotSpaghetti Sat 02-Jul-22 11:26:46

Yes, Farzanah - most definitely don't ask me!!

NotSpaghetti Sat 02-Jul-22 11:25:53

I found the cancer cells really strange tbh.
Will someone who knows tell me what was I looking for?? ??

Strange to be quite so useless at this. Other than foreign languages I'm generally at least middling! grin

Farzanah Sat 02-Jul-22 11:07:13

Obviously better for AI to read X-rays etc. Humans are fallible.

Marmight Sat 02-Jul-22 10:47:16

Better than 66% of the first 100

Marydoll Sat 02-Jul-22 10:47:12

Just for fun, your score on this DEMO was better than 66% of the first 100 people who tried it.

FannyCornforth Sat 02-Jul-22 10:38:46

Chewbacca

I was better than 32% of the first 100 people who tried it. I don't know whether to be pleased or disappointed.

Same here!
I’m a bit ?‍♀️, but I really enjoyed doing the test
