Fish hybrids…

I know some people on gransnet have said they go fishing so I wondered if they’d ever come across fish hybrids? I was watching Gone Fishing last night ( what a lovely programme!) and they caught a hybrid. I thought I knew a bit about fish because I used to collect those cards that were in tea and I did a project at school about them but I never realised you could get hybrids! Just goes to show you’re never too old to learn something new!

My Dad was a really keen fisherman and took me from abiut the age of 5. We caught all sorts of fish from Minnows to Pike but must admit I never saw a hybrid but he did say a friend had caught one once which looked as though it was a cross between a Chub and a Roach.

I can’t remember which hybrid they caught in the programme because I was dozing off when I was watching it. It really surprised me, though.
