Now the election is over, let us talk about something else - like the weather!

Another day, another election. Cold, showery windy and currently 12°here in Normandy. Turnout expected to be about 65%, but a lot of France went on holiday yesterday, so who knows.

We're on holiday, I've got a cold, not covid.
And it's raining and will continue for the rest of the week.

I just accept it’s a bit of a damp summer, but would prefer it a tad warmer, although not the high 30’s we’ve had in previous years.

Lovely weather yesterday where I live. In fact, we ended up drinking mojitos on the beach promenade and taking a rather nice stroll.

It’s freezing here down south in Australia. Bright sun ,which is nice, though we don’t get enough rain. My daughter is up in the Far North, 28C, perfect Winter’s day up there. Wish I was up there.

We are in the uk - on holiday! Next years holiday definitely won’t be in the UK.

It rained hard all last night, and the morning continued with heavy showers. The sun managed to come out by mid afternoon and it was a pleasant evening, but it hasn’t been warm despite the sun. Mr M insists on wearing his shorts though because he never feels cold, even in winter.

And I don’t know if it’s just because it’s been such a dark day but I thought it was darker than usual when I took Rosie for her usual bedtime tiddle and toddle at 10 o clock.

I'm just exhausted with this dire, endless awful weather.

Every day the same. Rain. Grey skies. I don't remember a summer like this. I've yet to see a butterfly or ladybird. Looking at my foxes and hedgehogs on night camera they're all being buffeted around. I wouldn't be surprised if my hedgies decided to give up and hibernate.

I've had enough of it and there's nothing I can do about it.

The temperature her at 8 am was 12C, feels like 10C and didn't rise much during the day.
It rained heavily yesterday evening, thunder and lightning and rain overnight, strong gusts of wind, it rained most of today but the sun cam out at about 4pm.
The heating cut in (by the thermostat) for an hour this morning.

I'm wearing warm trousers which should be packed away by now.

It's summer and it is thoroughly miserable.

This "summer" has been awful. I'm thoroughly fed up. I love to feel the warmth of the sun, to see blue skies and wear fewer clothes. An hour ago I put the heating on and outside it might as well be November and the forecast doesn't show any improvement for the next week. The cat hates going out in the rain and he's bored. I think we might just as well snuggle up together in bed in a minute. There, that's my moan for the day over with.

My Petunia hanging baskets (which I forgot to bring into the conservatory) were looking bedraggled this morning. Nothing else came to harm though. All the plants I treasure have finished flowering, and my bedding this year is mainly BLizzies, as I was preoccupied with other things and just bought a few plug plants.

To be fair, I've managed to avoided most of the huff and puff over the election, but with Nigel Farage now in the house, I don't see the excitement level settling back down to normal for the duration.

Would you believe it, DH and I both have colds (no it's not Covid) in July!
It has been wet and windy most of the day here on the south coast. My two buddleia are all over the place and the cat is refusing to go out.

It was similar weather 51 years ago in July. The year we were married.
