Now the election is over, let us talk about something else - like the weather!

Last night our indoor/outdoor thermometer registered an outdoor temperature of 11.2 C. I went back into my winter nightwear and put the electric blanket on for a few minutes.

This morning it was not much higher and the internal temperature was dropping close to the point (18.5C) where the CH automatically turns on - and it has been raining, it's been pouring, the old man....... not to mention the wind that is decimating my walnut tree and the rain has brought down a large branch of the buddliea.

Last night the rain was so heavy it woke me up hammering on the roof of our single storey extension.

Bl**dy weather! I blame the government.

Pouring down, northeasterly wind, 11"🥶

It is supposed to be full sun today. Great.
17 degrees maximum.
Very light north west wind.

Where has the heat gone?

DamaskRose Wed 10-Jul-24 15:35:12

13 degrees (it feels colder) here in the north east of Scotland, pouring and windy. We have the heating on. Supposed to be better tomorrow …

MissAdventure Wed 10-Jul-24 15:29:25

It's very nice weather here today. smile
Just how I like it - blowy but sunny, and warm, not boiling hot.

Bridie22 Wed 10-Jul-24 14:18:03

Rain, thundery and damp and more damp! NE.

JamesandJon33 Wed 10-Jul-24 14:16:04

Sadly in Wales we get the rain first, and it is perishing cold here also

pascal30 Wed 10-Jul-24 13:23:35

I have the heating on today but apparently it heat up to 30 next week..

Callistemon213 Wed 10-Jul-24 13:15:49

It's improving here, Joseann, please keep sending it over!

I remember watching the duck with her ducklings at Rosemoor, one little duckling was having such a struggle to get out of the water and up the bank but managed it in the end. 🦆

Joseann Wed 10-Jul-24 13:12:01

North Devon today, RHS Rosemore Gardens. Blue sky trying its best, but only 17 degrees.

So true

When we lived in Devon I used to see postcards saying:

Come to Sunny Devon
Where it rains six days out of seven

GrannyGravy13 Wed 10-Jul-24 10:22:00

Cossy I am teen sitting for 6 days next week, right down the other end of mine/your beachfront I have loaded my kindle with books, got my beach chair ready to put in the car, sun protection etc.,

I will be changing all the above to raincoat, umbrella and jeans 😡😡😡

Cossy Wed 10-Jul-24 09:59:05

It’s bloody awful and worse still so changeable! We too are holiday in the UK this year, certainly not next year!

Please, bring on some sunshine, at least 14 days in a row, without a hideous heatwave!

Mollygo Wed 10-Jul-24 09:52:07

The forecast said fine today between 6 and 10 am, so I have my washing out early and I’m poised to bring it in in another nine minutes.

So true

We have an indoor/outdoor device, the outside monitor transmits its reading to the indoor device.

Casdon Tue 09-Jul-24 09:56:13

It’s grey and humid with us this morning the kind of weather that saps the life out of me.. it’s not actually raining at the moment, although it has been. The last of my peonies looks like a rotting pink cabbage, they really don’t like it.

16C? A positive heat wave. Our thermometer is struggling to get above 14C

According to my device which is indoors!

And the coast is on sewage alert, again. 😡

Joseann Tue 09-Jul-24 07:29:26

Just walked the dogs, and once again I'm soaked and my jeans are wet up to my knees.

Callistemon213 Tue 09-Jul-24 07:16:04

16C and very wet here this morning.

At least we don't have to water the garden.

Fantastic idea. Lovely day in West Yorkshire. Was going to go in the garden but changed my mind, my gardener is coming tomorrow to trim the hedges so I will go out then and do a bit of pottering about.
