I have just looked out of he window and our road hass clearly flooded. The street lights are rflecting off the stream of water flowing down the road.
None of the houses, about 30 of us in our post code is flooded because the ground rises from orad to houses and most of us are not even in a flood zone.
Other people in the village are not so fortunate and a number are piling up sandbaga against their front doors.
We moved to this village in 1996 and the idea of the village flooding never entered anayoone's heads. The village had fooded in 189something and again in 1947, when the world flooded, but since then nothing.
Bit in 2007 there was great weather event came over, flooded Tewkesbury and flooded our village - a long way from Tewkesbury as well, about 40 or 50 houses in the village centre.
We were told this was not global warning, just that one in a one hundred or one thousand year event, but since then the village has started flooding more and more regulalry.
The flood outside at the moment is the third or fourth in the past year. Since the first flood, many hundreds of houses have been added to the village, built on the flood plain. Now more roads are flooding, some that never flooded before.
So far we are unaffected, but for how much longer, especially as they are planning to build a huge reservoir nearby that will rais ethe water table by one metre.
Anyone else affected by the flooding?
