I notice a whopping great shiny box has just been attached to the side of the house opposite. It must be for air conditioning or similar. Lucky them, but what an eyesore.
New build T shaped cul-de-sac, It's very quiet outside - our solar lights are shining really brightly in our flower bed tonight thanks to today's sunshine. I can see that as usual all the lights have been left on in the house opposite as it's not completed yet and it's a security thing to leave it fully lit at night so that those of us already here can see any potential intruders inside. The majority of the houses are occupied now but there's nobody about.
I would like the peace and birdsong that many of you speak of - instead of shootings, stabbings, the police helicopter flying over continiously and a day to day feeling of being vulnerable.
My lovely quiet little road is always so, just at leaving for work/school and returning. Am blessed with a dark night sky, as I'm high up on one of my city's hills, and have non BBQ neighbours. Over the road, behind the houses, is the Bluebell wood. Just peace.
Sometimes like FGT I'd like a bit of a "buzz", but mainly - no. The blessings of silence and spring slowly brightening the garden.
Very quiet - I’m in a small cul-de-sac, built on the footprint of an old farm steading. Two of my neighbours are away, one in Malaga, the other in Cyprus, so it’s even quieter than usual. I can hear traffic on the main road, especially from those who flaunt the speed limit!
It is very quiet now with the occasional car. There will be a flurry of traffic a bit later when pubs and restaurants close. Although I’m near a main route into town, it is only busy at school run time.
It's usually very quiet here but some idiot has moved in recently who is constantly revving up cars so loudly that we can't hear our TV and zooming up and down our 20mph road.
I too live in a towncentre, in a house in a one-direction back street. We live opposite the parish church and graveyard, whose occupants are commendably uiet.
But, like others, it is very uiet at the moment, no people and only an occasional car.
I live in the town centre in an apartment two floors up from the busy road below. I love the buzz. I can hear laughter below from people drinking, sat outside the Loungers Bar.
It’s a great place to people watch. Folk never look upwards when walking along the road - they’re busy checking out the bar as they walk past or looking across the road at the railway station.
We don’t live on a street. We live down a very quiet lane with no through traffic. We sat outside in the sun this afternoon and all we heard were birds singing.
