Nothing no cars no people going past

Tizliz Fri 24-Apr-26 22:40:39

Just some idiot trying to chase lambs back into their field, no chance! They just come out another hole. They go back to mum when they are hungry.

We live in a cul-de-sac which has a gunnel to the fields at the end so apart from the odd car we get dog walkers.

I live on a busy road and opposite a 24hr garage so lots of traffic and people walking to local town...in that direction anyway....then children coming home as school ends. We also hear lots of emergency vehicles with flashing lights plus the boy racers who love to rev their engines as they wait at the nearby roundabout!!. It doesn't worry me though, as i'm of the opinion that if ever i'm unable to go out independently, i will still feel part of the world albeit through my window and patio door.😊

I live on a seafront road but it's fairly quiet at the moment. The odd emergency vehicle and a tram every so often.
Very different in the day when it's busy with traffic of all kinds and people taking their dogs for walks on the cliffs opposite.

Nothing

😁

The hedgehog might be using the front path as a loo.

Mollygo Fri 24-Apr-26 22:00:10

There was a bus full of students passed a while ago, bt now it’s quiet.

I notice a whopping great shiny box has just been attached to the side of the house opposite. It must be for air conditioning or similar. Lucky them, but what an eyesore.

(I need to get a life)

New build T shaped cul-de-sac, It's very quiet outside - our solar lights are shining really brightly in our flower bed tonight thanks to today's sunshine. I can see that as usual all the lights have been left on in the house opposite as it's not completed yet and it's a security thing to leave it fully lit at night so that those of us already here can see any potential intruders inside. The majority of the houses are occupied now but there's nobody about.

Nothing

Lyndie Fri 24-Apr-26 21:47:47

Desdemona Fri 24-Apr-26 21:46:53

I would like the peace and birdsong that many of you speak of - instead of shootings, stabbings, the police helicopter flying over continiously and a day to day feeling of being vulnerable.

My lovely quiet little road is always so, just at leaving for work/school and returning. Am blessed with a dark night sky, as I'm high up on one of my city's hills, and have non BBQ neighbours.
Over the road, behind the houses, is the Bluebell wood.
Just peace.

Sometimes like FGT I'd like a bit of a "buzz", but mainly - no. The blessings of silence and spring slowly brightening the garden.

Very quiet - I’m in a small cul-de-sac, built on the footprint of an old farm steading.
Two of my neighbours are away, one in Malaga, the other in Cyprus, so it’s even quieter than usual.
I can hear traffic on the main road, especially from those who flaunt the speed limit!

Cabbie21 Fri 24-Apr-26 21:35:32

It is very quiet now with the occasional car. There will be a flurry of traffic a bit later when pubs and restaurants close. Although I’m near a main route into town, it is only busy at school run time.

Patsy70 Fri 24-Apr-26 21:25:35

It’s very peaceful, with a little birdsong and no noise from neighbours or passing traffic.

Kate1949 Fri 24-Apr-26 21:10:02

It's usually very quiet here but some idiot has moved in recently who is constantly revving up cars so loudly that we can't hear our TV and zooming up and down our 20mph road.

M0nica Fri 24-Apr-26 21:07:22

I too live in a towncentre, in a house in a one-direction back street. We live opposite the parish church and graveyard, whose occupants are commendably uiet.

But, like others, it is very uiet at the moment, no people and only an occasional car.

crazyH Fri 24-Apr-26 21:06:43

Well , someone has left a doggie bag on the low front wall of one of my not-too-happy neighbours . Our FB hub is buzzing .

Casdon Fri 24-Apr-26 21:06:43

Nothing at all, I’m glad to say. I was watching the house martins swooping an hour ago, they have come back for the summer today- earlier than usual.

kittylester Fri 24-Apr-26 21:06:00

During the day it is quite busy with the secondary school just up the road and is one of the roads out the village towards town.

At this time of night it is fairly quiet as far as cars are concerned but can be busy with people walking home from the village pubs and restaurants.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 24-Apr-26 21:02:44

I live in the town centre in an apartment two floors up from the busy road below. I love the buzz. I can hear laughter below from people drinking, sat outside the Loungers Bar.

It’s a great place to people watch. Folk never look upwards when walking along the road - they’re busy checking out the bar as they walk past or looking across the road at the railway station.

tanith Fri 24-Apr-26 21:00:14

Nothing its very quiet, no people or cars apart from those parked.

Aldom Fri 24-Apr-26 20:52:08

Peaceful, just birdsong.

Deedaa Fri 24-Apr-26 20:47:38

We live in a quiet cul de sac There's nothing happening out there now till my son comes home from work at about 9.30pm.

Desdemona Fri 24-Apr-26 20:41:39

An Asian man pacing up and down outside, had a big BMW. Have no idea what he was there for and wasn't going to ask.
