Local to me in our lovely county of Wiltshire we have plans from our local council to merge two villages on the outskirts of our county town.
Our fields are disappearing rapidly, once the farmland has been built on we can't retrieve it.
And as for seeing cattle grazing this is happening less and less locally.
Surely we should be reducing our carbon footprint by growing local.
People will say but we need more houses because our population is increasing. But most young couples I know are having just two children, ( I know of two women aged 30 and 31 who say they have made to choice to be childless to save the planet) so why is the government expecting our population to grow so much?

You will never win, cows fart so are not green, it seems it’s greener to have fields full of solar panels than crops.

The net zero lot won’t be happy until all our food is being shipped or flown in.

I this country deaths exceed births so the population already here is shrinking. The population growth is and has and will be coming from immigration.

How long this can go on for is doubtful. Most countries now have birth rates close to replacement rate and still falling, so legal migration may well end because qualified people will all be able to get jobs in their countries of origin. Then there are refugees, whether those numbers fall depends on world conflicts ending. Currently we have an American president who is a war monger and whose actions have forced many people to flee their countries and seek refuge elsewhere.

Cows only contribute to global warming if they are being reared in industrial conditions, fed food stuffs (maize and soya) that their digestions cannot cope with.

If cows are raised in natural conditions. Out to pasture all year long and grazing on pasture full of different plants, not only is the meat better for you, cows fart far less and through the way they are raised, sequester carbon in to the soil bringing their cntribution to global warming close to zero.

Pasture for Life meat is expensive but we dealt with it by halving our meat portion, a good thing to do anyway and replacing it with vegetables and beans.
