Wendell Berry has died.

RIP Wendell Berry
Thankyou NotSpaghetti for this news.
'The Peace of Wild Things' is one of my very favourite poems and means so much.
I shall recite it in my book group next week in honour of Wendell Berry.

Sorry but I have never heard of him or her

Me neither Charliegirl never came across him

Thank you for sharing this.

When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Yes, a beautiful poem, Greyduster a favourite of mine too.

He wrote one of my favourite poems -and one I turn to most often these days. “The Peace of Wild Things”.

'From dust you came and to dust you shall return '.
RIP Wendell Berry.

I thought more of us would have discovered him in the 1970s.
