I was sad to see that she has died while in California on a talking tour. She was the most amazing woman and forged a path for women in the science of primates, particularly chimpanzees.

No words really. So sad to hear this sad. What a truly amazing person.

Indeed. She appeared on Private Passions on Radio Three, and gave a revealing interview. It's an excellent episode ...

A wonderful clip was just shown on BBC News where a baby chimpanzee reaches forward and gently touches Jane on her nose.

Yes, a truly amazing woman, now off on her next adventure, as she described dying.

RIP Jane Goodall

A sad loss but she had a good life, doing what she loved. Her warmth and caring come across in her books. It's a pity there are not more people like her.

The sort of role model young women need. RIP.

She lived a remarkable life. I love the painting of her that was the prize commission on Portrait artist of the year, it captured her intelligence and humanity as well as being a great likeness

Wonderful woman. A life well lived. Did you see her final message, recorded just before?

There’s a great documentary about her on BBC I-player, I very much admired her and her work, as I did Dian Fossey on the mountain gorillas.
