Could GNHQ please tell me why............

I tried to make a pattern with stars some time ago, but it doesn't seem to accept spaces where you want to put them...

But that's not how I typed it.

There is something odd going on here.

It needs to be investigated.

Looks like we have to put a space between each star as Anagram did to get several of them in the middle of a word.

Only one space!

It only did one space instead of 6. so what happens when you type something else with six spaces between, like this A B ?

It missed out the stars at the start but posted the star. Will now try a star followed by half a dozen spaces then another star.

I posted a really blank message, ie several spaces and nothing else. It failed to post it but without comment. Then when I composed this, it had the spaces in position at the start. After this one I'm about to try a lot of spaces, followed by a star.

Which is silly, because that's a blank message as well, surely? (according to GNHQ)

Well, I just tried 4 stars on their own and I got "Sorry, you may not add a blank message" in red. It wasn't blank. How did it know it was only 4 stars?

They do like their red at HQ. I think they might have been teachers in another life.

I typed 4 stars i.e. * + 3 more. on another post not as a substitute for swearing but as in 4star hotel. Was amused to see it didn't print I wonder if I leave spaces * * * *

I seem to have cured mine of its aversion to Roman frescos, though.
