What about a virtual world cruise?

Gayle Sat 13-Oct-12 11:57:42

far too long you can get paid for doing census on line!

gramps Sat 13-Oct-12 08:57:06

I bought goods from the market for practical classes, getting receipts on odd bits of paper and paper bags!

eGJ Sat 13-Oct-12 06:51:19

Only at Avery Hill site gramps so I don't think we'd have met. (of course we might have passed "daan Woolich"! grin

Elegran Fri 12-Oct-12 23:21:09

Anno I've not noticed anyone who reminded me of Jings.

gramps Fri 12-Oct-12 23:13:57

I worked at Woolwich Poly, later becoming Thames Poly, before changing again to Greenwich University.
We had a Lab at the Oakfield Lane site for a few months before it was closed. We took it over from the original occupants for Biologigal Sciences.

annodomini Fri 12-Oct-12 18:10:40

Have we had any new names recently? A bit of detective work may be called for.

jeni Fri 12-Oct-12 17:44:59

She'll be lurking around somewhere! Aren't you jing

Elegran Fri 12-Oct-12 17:16:09

anno When I read your post I remembered that JO4 was one of those who watched and enjoyed a concert on webcam that I posted about in February, and tried a pm to tell her of the latest one. It was not accepted "JO4 is not a valid nickname". I think she must have checked out again.

jeni Fri 12-Oct-12 17:14:23

grin good job she's deceased then!

eGJ Fri 12-Oct-12 17:12:27

She wouldn't have liked it when it became part of Thames Polytechnic and sunsequently merely a part of Greenwich University then! grin Apologies for losing the plot thread!

jeni Fri 12-Oct-12 17:06:02

Well SHE thought she was superior. She was a right snob!

eGJ Fri 12-Oct-12 16:59:55

Thanks for that jeni smile I felt very old this morning, but wasn't born until after hostilities had stopped. I was teaching there much, much later and not in it's glory days! AH still had it's staff room adjoining the tropical "Winter Garden" though, which is open to the public!

annodomini Fri 12-Oct-12 16:57:35

Something tells me we haven't heard from JO4 recently, or am I wrong?

jeni Fri 12-Oct-12 16:52:54

It was during the last world war. We're you teaching then?grin

eGJ Fri 12-Oct-12 16:34:42

If your mother trained at Avery Hill she must be most superior jeni ( only saying that because I taught there grin

Ana Fri 12-Oct-12 16:17:37

Who started this rumour about a world cruise? hmm
Could it have been GNHQ to get more of us to complete the census....? grin

jeni Fri 12-Oct-12 15:09:58

What world cruise? Where? When?

Please note folks I'm jeni not jenni. I was born during rationing and only got one n. I didn't get an e in Ann eithersad
Mind you, it could have been that my infant teacher mother (trained at avery hill) was dyslexic?
But I don't think so!confused

MaryXYX Fri 12-Oct-12 14:14:56

re JO4: Annual Income. Look at your P60?

re jenni: Crescent Moon. I don't know what you use one for but now I want one too. Oh wait, MaggieP has one ...
moon

re Frankel: Gender. It does ask, but only allows the two most common choices.

re Granny23: Attitude at 51. I don't think mine was relevant to me now. At 60 my attitude was work until I drop because I don't have enough pension to survive. At 64 it's get out before the stress kills me. Anything else is subsidiary.

re (GCHQ) oops sorry (GNHQ): uh uh, it's the feds. If I were to win the first prize I expect I would be able to find someone in the tribe who could use it. The second prize is products from a company I haven't heard of. I could certainly make good use of chocolates and other goodies!

re PatriciaC: "Complacent and very middle class". I guess I'll be expelled pretty soon then!

MrsJamJam Fri 12-Oct-12 10:08:19

If there really are many thousands of us, how are we all going to fit on the world cruise? Are HQ building a very big boat? grin
