I have learned to look for beauty every day
It may just be a tiny thing
A shaft of sunlight
A butterfly wing
Moments race by.

Haiku-
Childhood memories - feeling cherished
Like bubbles
That drift and disappear.

My family mean everything to me

Without them I'd be lost

I just hope they feel the same way about me

Haiku - For Our Sons

We gave you freedom
Fly! Use it wisely, kindly
Taste the air of life.

Rise on warm thermals
Slide on sun rays purest gold
We will smile and cheer.

Yes soop. It is. [howl!] (though I do see mine fairly often these days)

Haiku - Just a Boy

Just a boy by the
Sunny river, throwing stones
In endless ripples.

It's true, isn't it *jings"?

Oooh. That's nice. And sad.

For Family

Mother's love
protects, restrains, comforts
and, when the time is right -
sets you free
to journey far away from me.

You stole hearts when you were born
Those baby days we did mourn
Then you had one of your own
All consuming love, every fibre every bone

A Haiku for my beloved grandaughter adopted age 4

She came like a breeze
Shaking and snaking the grass
And lifted our hearts

Gally, I'm sorry for your sadness.

I can't sleep tonight, must try to now.

Valentine's baby

Roses are red, just like your nose
Violets are blue, like your nose in the cold
Sugar is sweet, and also is honey
And, just like your nose, its quite often runny.

Memories of him
Rise in transient smokey curls
Towards his heaven

Three little girls
One of them has curls
Sweet little faces
They all have airs and graces
Dressing up in Grandma's pearls

Darling little boys
You have brought me many joys
Grandma loves you very much
Spending time playing and such
Now it's time to pick up your toys

Paddling pools and puppy dogs and picnics every day,
Will the sun come out to shine or will it hide away?
Lists of things to make and do and joyful games to play,
Longing for the summer when our grandsons come to stay.

ON BEING A PARENT

Our children stand firm
apprenticed to glean from us
What we learn too.
