I would pass it over to GNHQ to moderate, as there have been so many incidents of threads turning nasty when attempts to tone things down have been unsuccessful. At least Jingle will reply without pretending she meant something else. You always know exactly where you stand if she sets you in her sights

Merlot - I really am confused. When I thought some of Messengers posts were unacceptable, I said so openly and then was roundly told by several people that if I felt like that I should report the posts and not criticise him on the thread.

I think you are in the clear * j08*. The further action bit refers to the future if there other complaints.

I can't think of many, or any, circumstances in which I would report a fellow GNetter.

I would deal with matters myself in the open or by PM.

Anyone who is offended by something written on a thread can openly object - just like a real conversation. That way everyone is aware of what's being said and how feelings are running. Reporting someone because you are upset by their remarks is childish at our age and smacks of just wanting to put yourself in a good light.

J08 - you could copy us the email! I just don't like the snide comments that are being made about snitching etc - I last reporters J08 about the whole FGM comments and the sick bucket and I think both were worth complaining about. And anyway, we're free to report aren't we - or are some people except from criticism?

Maybe there is a mole amongst us, someone from GNHQ posting as though they are one of us. Jingle rubs the mole up the wrong way, just once too often and wham she's out on her ear.
