Either way, both messages are meant warmly. We've lost one friend for good, but another one has come back. It's all done in a sensitive manner.

I think the 'welcomes back' were very tasteful and mindful of the thread that they appeared on.

I don't see a problem with overlap either. Well said, stansgran. We can separate the two subjects in our own minds, surely? Always supposing they need to be separate, which I'm not sure they do.

Good point Stansgran

I failed to see the relevance to the Tributes to Carol thread and agree that a separate thread would be a more appropriate place to post any come back posts or welcome messages.

But how would we know unless it was someone who made themselves known to lots of other people privately and then what is the point of user names? I appreciated the fact that people can acknowledge a positive move ie the return of a dynamic poster on the same thread as people acknowledging the loss of another poster.

Please God.

Oh, let's hope we don't have to have any more tribute threads for a very long time.

It's unfortunate that threads that are for tributes, or other sensitive subjects, get de-railed, and it would be helpful if the come-back posts could be somewhere else. Thank you.

Yes please

Ariadne Sun 15-Dec-13 09:51:40

Yes please.

Dramatic returns, that we see so frequently, should have their own arena.

My thoughts too MiceElf

To GNHQ. Could we keep tribute threads as tribute threads and move Welcome Back messages to a thread of their own.
