Gransnets really, really slow tonight on my computer - no problem with any other sites or my homepage...confused

Actually thinking of the butties at archery! Gives a new slant to the old English butts! This is where every man and boy had to practice archery every Sunday by law!

I have noticed Saturday mornings are usually slow, I wondered if technical stuff gets done then, but it seems not.

Pooh! Hope they've the bacon butties at archery tomorrow! They didn't have any last weeksad

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Sat 29-Mar-14 19:27:32

Bacon sandwiches? No. Though there may have been some cakes in the oven

Hoping it is all ok for everyone now - may have been a temporary blip but do let us know if it's causing problems

Of course they could just be hung over grin

I found it a bit slow this morning but it often is on a Saturday. I think they do 'maintenance' at weekends hmm

I might have trouble once or twice a month but most of the time it's instant. I use my windows phone. Now when it comes to my ancient (5-6yrs) desk top, that's a different matter!

Pleased to know it's not just me.

Message to GNHQ ... are you using up all your allotted power making those bacon butties? hmm

I have a bit of an odd problem with it. Unless I refresh to page before I post anything, then when I do try to add post I get the whirly thing going round and round for ages. In the end I give up, copy what I've written, then refresh and paste it in. It then adds the post very quickly.

It was slow at 6am our time which is 5am your time so don't think it was traffic. It is often slow at that time, I imagine they are doing something with the server.

What a relief, I thought my steam driven ipad was coming to the end of its useful life and I can't afford to update.

Ariadne Sat 29-Mar-14 08:38:30

Yes, me too this morning, though it was OK earlier today.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 29-Mar-14 08:36:19

I wonder if it's because more people come on on a Saturday.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 29-Mar-14 08:34:43

Yes. It's slow for me at the moment.

I find a couple of times a week, always in the morning, Gransnet takes ages to load onto my iPad. I try other sites such as Amazon to test and they load quickly, so it's not my broadband or my iPad.

Does anyone else have this problem. This morning was an instance of this, it's taken me about 10 minutes to get this message posted.
