I've asked GNHQ what the situation with Heartbleed is for us here, given the Mumsnet news - but what about elsewhere? Anybody have a link to lists of UK websites affected?

Heartbleed has been around for a couple of years apparently, and nobody seems to have done much about it.

I suspect as a certain bard put it "Much ado about nothing"

Mumsnet has made all members change their passwords...I have forgotten my new one already...hmm

Just changed mine on here. Not sure if we need to but am feeling security conscious!

I agree with Galen.

We don't think that GN has been affected by this - but by all means, if you'd like to change your passwords please do. Nowt like peace of mind!

Actually, scratch that - we now know GN hasn't been affected. Our tech dept. has also put safeguards/fixes whatever you call them in place, so MN is as well-protected as possible.

Really good to hear, thank you very much Lucy. I am usually very sceptical about 'the sky is falling' news stories about the internet, but I know this one is actually worrying a lot of tech-y people.
